prayer and sin
Not only does sin hinder prayer; prayer hinders sin. The two are always opposed. The more careless ewe are about sin, the less we will pray. The more we pray, the less careless we will be about sin. Both sin and prayer are powerful forces. Which one is moving you???

Understanding
I recently heard a teaching on UNDERSTANDING. Understand means to grasp something BUT ALSO to grasp the value of it. So many times when we read something in the word we think we "understand" it but we don't place a value on it therefore it doesn't impact our lives. It doesn't become revelation knowledge. It's not real to us and if it isn't real and if it doesn't change our lives then we can be talked out of it. This really hit me because so many times i quote the Word of God because it's the word but I don't place a value on it. Like when I confess that "My God will meet all MY needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" I meant it at first but then it became a tradition to say it. Meaning I wasn't placing a value on those words and I was repeating them because maybe it worked at one time for me or it worked for someone else at one time but I wasn't being lead by the Lord to quote that in my life everyday so it lost it's value to be. It was real in my life.
So many times we hear different things like Sister Pam quoted Isaiah 53:5 "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed" and she quoted it for a week straight and she got healed of back problems and knee problems. If it worked for her I'm going to try it. But were you lead by the Lord to do that? Maybe the Lord is directing you to do something else like go to a healing service coming up. But you're to busy following a "tradition" instead of listening for the direction of the Lord. This is something that I have done quite a few times but I'm learning now that we have to seek the Lord and get a NOW direction for out lives. Not what has worked for someone else but what the Lord wants for your life at this time.
I hope this makes sense I have sooo many thoughts running through my head. If you have any thoughts or questions please comment. =]

Practice what you Preach =]
There are soooo many messages that I've heard about this. Practice what you preach. Be a doer. And for sooo long my attitude was yea yea I know... but recently the Lord has been holding me to the things I speak more then ever.
My church has been starting new bible studies and few have been showing up. I realized that so many people clock in and clock out on Sundays and Wednesdays. And when they come on sundays and wednesdays they are looking for the "fix" with the Lord. "Lord give me strength, give me peace, give me patient...etc"
I think when you are a baby christian this is ok because you don't know any better, but as someone who has grown up in church and known the Lord since I was little, that doesn't fly for me anymore. When I go to church it is to add on to my time spent with the Lord. It's to add to my knowledge of the word, not to keep me filled up the next bible study. We can't live from bible study to bible study. We have to build our relationship with the Lord everyday, we have to live it everyday. We can't be on fire for the Lord on Sunday and living like an atheist by Monday. This is something that I haven't completely conquered. There are times when I'm running on empty, but I'm trying to change my life and stop letting my laziness rule my life.
I think that it is a daily thing we have to do. CHOOSE to serve whether you feel like it or not. CHOOSE to get in the Word. CHOOSE to pray for others. CHOOSE to live what you preach.

Praise and Worship
At my church my Pastor assigned the Praise and Worship team to do a small report on praise and worship. So here is what i found.
About a week after trying MY hardest to learn about praise and worship I stopped everything and began talking to the Lord. In the background I had Jesus Culture playing and the Lord told me to just listen and watch (I had it playing on youtube) the worship leader. I watched as she poured out her heart singing to the Lord. Every word she sand came straight from her heart. Her passion to please the Lord, her passion to serve the Lord and love of the Lord was SSOO intense. Her passion for the Lord was her driving force. I can’t praise the Lord without a passion for Him. When I praise the Lord I tell Him how great He is, how He is so wonderful, how He is the one and only true God! How can I tell Him all those things without a passion for Him. When I worship the Lord it’s for Him. When I worship the Lord it’s for the Lord, to bless Him and honor Him, because He is so worthy. Praise and Worship is not for me but for the Lord. Worship is to love without questions. Praise is to lift up and honor. So how can I enter into praise and worship asking the Lord to fill ME, bless ME, and show ME His love? How selfish is that, and even in my selfishness He still chooses to bless me. What an AMAZING Father. When I go into praise and worship thinking about what I want to get out of it that is worshipping me, putting me before the Father. Praise and worship is so we can honor the Father and tell Him how great He is. When we enter into worship we need to sing every word with a passion to please Him, sing every word because it’s the cry of our hearts. We have to believe EVERY word we are saying because we are singing it to the Father to praise Him and we CANNOT be singing to the Lord and not mean what we say. That isn’t praising Him. He is so awesome the least we can do is tell the Father how magnificent He is.
